From working in retail I know you're supposed to watch for signs of shoplifting, consequently I am now hyper-aware of these signs. One of them is looking for people picking up random objects, carrying them around, putting them down, and repeating this. I'm a very indecisive shopper & I always do this. So I get nervous when salespeople start asking me if they can help me in a way that implies that they thought I? was shoplifting, because I wasn't. I'm just an awkward shopper.
